(W: I waited until 11:30 pm for the team to call, then I called Taloyoak and spoke with Daniel Tulurialik. Daniel told me, "The radios are not too good today." He had not been able to reach the team all day. He explained that there were other camps that could not be reached today because of the bad radio transmission. "They go like that sometimes. Might be from the weather. The radio's been out for about three days now." He said that he would keep on trying to reach the team tonight and tomorrow. He suggested that I should call him tomorrow at 7:00 pm.

A short time later Fran called. She said Daniel had called her to say he had just managed to contact the team. He said that the weather was rainy but calm. They had walked 7 miles and they were at Oscar Bay. He repeated to her that I would be calling him tomorrow and added that the team will try to call me on Saturday. I assume this means that they are having at least some success with charging the battery, but not enough to make the usual daily calls. )
